Principal Facilities Manager

Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal Facilities Manager to lead and develop the Council's Cleaning, School Caretaking and School Crossing Patrol services across schools, corporate buildings and community-based sites. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in ensuring safe, clean, compliant and welcoming environments for pupils, employees, residents and visitors across the borough.

As Principal Facilities Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Cleaning, School Caretaking and School Crossing Patrol services, managing a large and diverse workforce and driving continuous improvement across multiple service areas. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of service delivery, ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual requirements, and supporting the Council's wider objectives through effective leadership, innovation and service development.

The successful candidate will bring significant senior management experience within Facilities Management, Property Services or a comparable operational environment, together with a proven track record of leading large, multi-site frontline services through managers and supervisors. You will have experience of budget management, procurement, contract management and service improvement, alongside the ability to build productive relationships with Headteachers, business managers, senior leaders, contractors and other key stakeholders.
