
Principal Revenues Officer Technical Support
We are recruiting for a Principal Revenues Officer (Technical Support) to join our Revenues Team within the Resources Directorate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical integrity, functionality, and strategic development of the Revenues systems supporting Council Tax, Business Rates, and wider income streams. You will be committed to achieving positive outcomes and bring proven experience with the Civica Open Revenues system.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead officer for Revenues systems, ensuring new releases and system migrations are fully tested and implemented on schedule.
- Research new initiatives and system enhancements, formulate policy, and deliver business and process improvement programmes—particularly those involving new technologies and online customer services.
- Maintain and monitor the Revenues Service systems roadmap, working closely with Corporate ICT to ensure timely progress on upgrades, releases, and scheduled jobs.
- Lead on annual billing and year-end system preparation.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- In-depth knowledge of Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates procedures, regulations, and working practices.
- Strong understanding of Civica Open Revenues, including standard and bespoke interfaces, with the ability to investigate and resolve interface issues.
- Experience in automating procedures using Civica Automation and writing complex reports using DataPA and other reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse community.
