Our procurement team is divided into 3 main category areas: Construction and Environment, Adult and Children Public Health and Corporate Services.

This role sits within the Corporate Services team and will report directly to the Procurement Category lead.

With a strategic emphasis on commercial value, this role will oversee a diverse and critical procurement portfolio across these and other areas:

- Financial services: pensions, debt management, treasury operations, insurance, and actuarial services.

- Facilities management: including security, cleaning, catering, and office relocation.

- Vehicle fleet supplies and associated support services.

- Temporary accommodation supplies to fulfill statutory obligations related to homelessness.

- Human resources, consultancy services and transformation

- Communication, transformation, media and events.

- Parking and streetscene

This is an existing role within the organisation and the post holder is expected on the procurement work stream for a range of major and strategically significant contracts within a designated Category area of expenditure. We are a small and close team who share ideas and learn from each other, we are proactive and uphold with pride the principles of Public Procurement.

- Must understand about the Procurement New Act Regulations and have had experience in complex procurement projects.

- Must be able to run a tender from start to finish and have used different framework agreements.

- Communicate in a clear, confident and authoritative manner that is in line with established policies and practices of the Council, having a good relationship with stakeholders and peers.

- To organise and deliver all work on time and to agree quality standards.
