Job summary

We are looking for a Recruitment Marketing Service Lead and a Recruitment Continuous Improvement Service Lead to join the Recruitment Hub. We provide a recruitment service to Department for Transport (DfT) Group, which includes DfTc, DVSA, DVLA, MCA, VCA, and ATE.

Job description

We have two teams in Recruitment Hub that support our recruitment operational services:

  1. Recruitment Continuous Improvement
  2. Recruitment Marketing

We are looking for two people to lead these teams:

Recruitment Continuous Improvement Service Lead – this individual looks at new and innovative ways to improve recruitment across DfT Group. You will work with Recruitment Hub and our customers to identify and implement recruitment service, process, and policy improvements, ensuring that activity is aligned to business requirements and priorities. You will utilise your networks to keep up to date with the latest recruitment trends, techniques, and technology, ensuring that DfT is at the forefront of recruitment innovation.

Recruitment Marketing Service Lead – this individual provides expert marketing and branding advice and support across DfT Group. You will work with Recruitment Hub and our customers to identify and implement marketing opportunities, promoting DfT Group as a great place to work and ensuring that we attract the best talent. You will work with stakeholders to understand their business requirements and strategic priorities, including diversity and inclusion targets, so that all marketing and branding activity is aligned with this.

The responsibilities for both these roles will include, but aren’t limited to:

  1. Leading your team and direct line management responsibility for 1 HEO
  2. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders across DfT Group to understand their recruitment and strategic requirements
  3. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with Recruitment Hub operational colleagues to understand their challenges and requirements
  4. Ensuring that your team’s activities are aligned to stakeholder needs and business priorities, often managing conflicting demands
  5. Ensuring that your stakeholders are kept up to date on team activity
  6. Using data and expert knowledge to inform team activities and decisions
  7. Plan and prioritise workloads and ensure delivery on time. Manage stakeholder expectations when necessary
  8. Contract management responsibility for third party suppliers

Person specification

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  1. Experience of working in a recruitment function with good knowledge of recruitment processes and policies
  2. Experience of leading a team
  3. Experience in setting priorities and planning workloads to meet organisational objectives
  4. Experience of building and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders
  5. Experience of using and analysing data to inform decision making

Additional Information

You will be required to undertake the Foundation e-learning module of the Contract Management Capability programme once in role, unless this accreditation is already held.

Working hours, office attendance and travel requirements

Full time roles consist of 37 hours per week.

This role is suitable for hybrid working, which is a non-contractual arrangement where a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements.

The expectation at present is a minimum of 60% of your working time a month will be spent at either your designated workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, in another office/work location/visiting stakeholders. Your designated workplace will be your contractual place of work. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.

Regular travel to other offices will be required, which may involve overnight stays. This includes meeting with the Service Leads and Head of Recruitment Delivery in London every other month, and attending Recruitment Hub away days three times a year (one in Leeds, one in Birmingham, one in Swansea). You will be expected to travel and visit your team regularly if you do not work in the same office. You will also be expected to travel to visit our stakeholders who have a UK-wide presence (locations include Southampton, Nottingham, and Bristol).
