Refuse Driver HGV

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Refuse Driver (HGV) to join Plymouth City Council’s commercial waste collection team. As a refuse driver you will play a vital role in keeping Plymouth clean and sustainable by delivering efficient waste collection services across the City.

What you'll do
• Drive and operate HGV waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Lead and support collection crews on daily routes.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks and defect reporting.
• Ensure compliance with driver hours, tachograph regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Deliver excellent customer service while working in a public-facing
environment.
• Complete relevant operational records and documentation.

What you'll need
• Full HGV Category C Licence (Category C+E advantageous).
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Experience driving HGV vehicles in operational environments.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Strong communication, teamwork and customer service skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake some
physical duties.
