Regeneration Assistant - Ref: CH09126
Job Description
Regeneration Assistant - Ref: CH09126
G4: £27,274 - £29,071 per annum.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for an organised, friendly and enthusiastic Regeneration Assistant to join Walsall Council’s Employment and Skills Team. You’ll help the team connect local people with jobs, training and other opportunities across the borough.
This is a varied support role where you’ll work with residents, employers, training providers and partner organisations. You’ll help keep information up to date, respond to enquiries and support events, workshops and employment and skills projects.
It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people, working as part of a team and learning new skills while making a positive difference in Walsall.
About the job:
You’ll provide practical administrative and project support to the Employment and Skills Team and the Walsall Works programme. This will include updating vacancy and training information, maintaining records and databases, helping with reports and evaluations, and supporting the organisation of events and workshops.
You’ll also help promote opportunities through different communication channels, answer enquiries from residents and businesses, and follow up vacancies and other opportunities with employers.
The role is based at the Civic Centre, with some work at meetings and events. Occasional evening or weekend working may be required.
About you:
You don’t need to know everything from day one. We’re looking for someone who is keen to learn and can bring:
Good communication skills and a helpful, customer-focused approach
Confidence using IT and keeping accurate electronic records
Good organisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines
A positive, flexible approach and the ability to work well in a team
An interest in employment, skills, local communities or regeneration
GCSEs or equivalent in maths and English, or a willingness to work towards them
A willingness to undertake relevant training, including working towards a recognised apprenticeship in Business Administration or a similar subject
