
Regulatory Compliance Apprentice - Environmental Health

For these posts we are looking for one apprentice to join our Environmental Protection team and one to join our Private Sector Housing team
We are looking for enthusiastic, curious, and committed individuals to join our Environmental Health team. This is a unique opportunity to get involved in everything from inspecting properties and monitoring health and safety, to helping businesses comply with legislation and investigating complaints from residents.
As part of your apprenticeship, you&©ll receive full training to support the delivery of our environmental health services, including:
Responding to complaints and service requests from residents and businesses
Visiting homes and premises to assess conditions and gather evidence Inspecting properties, identifying risks, and helping to ensure legal compliance
Assisting in writing clear, evidence-based reports and case notes
Liaising with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues
Supporting enforcement actions and advising businesses on good practice
Keeping records up-to-date using our digital systems
Getting involved in projects, policy development, and emergency planning work
It is essential that you have a genuine interest in health, safety, housing, or environmental standards and a positive attitude and a proactive, problem-solving mindset, along with having:
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
Good IT and organisational skills
You will need to have a full UK driving licence and access to a car and a willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends. Also you will need to be physical able to carry out site visits (e.g., lifting covers, using ladders)
It is essential that you are committed to personal development as you will be required to study for Regulatory Compliance Officer apprenticeship which is a nationally recognised Level 4 apprenticeship. You will have mentoring and support from experienced professionals

Salary range
- £23,700 - £24,042 per year
