Elizabeth Fry Charity runs a Ministry of Justice Approved Premises in Reading, accommodating up to 24 women. We strive to be an excellent provider of accommodation and support for women in the criminal justice system.

Resettlement and Support Officer (Days)
Average 17.75 hours per week (five week rolling rota)
Starting salary for a full-time equivalent post is £24,788.55 per annum, with the potential to progress to £29,417.55 per annum.
(£11,882.21 to £14,112.47 pro rata for 17.75 hours per week)
25 days annual leave per annum, pro rata, plus bank holiday additional payments.
Are you interested in working with women offenders, many of whom have substance misuse and other complex issues? Are you committed to teamwork? Are you able to demonstrate a flexible and creative approach to enable and assist offenders to live in the community leading law abiding lives?
The post involves working an average of 17.75 hours a week on a rota basis, which includes weekend shifts and occasional bank holidays. Ideally you should have experience of working within the Criminal Justice System and understand the importance of leading by example, encouragement and enthusiasm when working with women involved in the Criminal Justice System.
In addition you will have a good understanding of the levels of discrimination that women in the Criminal Justice System experience. However, individuals who are able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues surrounding women and offending and show a willingness to learn would also be considered.
We are seeking self motivated and committed individuals to support our residents and assist the running of the Approved Premises. Excellent communications skills, administrative skills and team work skills are a must. You will receive regular supervision and appropriate training for your particular needs.
