    Join us as a Retail Reuse Supervisor to actively support with and oversee the day-to-day operations of a team responsible for sorting, minor garment repairs, and upcycling non-saleable fabric items which allow Sue Ryder to re-use more items that have been generously donated by supporters helping to drive Sue Ryders objective to be commercially environmentally sustainable.

    Reporting to the Reuse Manager this new role will play a key part in establishing and optimising operational processes within a new distribution and reuse pilot at our Northampton site ensuring that processes are efficient.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Lead and supervise the sorting and garment repair team, overseeing the day-to-day activities of the team, including sorting, minor garment repairs and upcycling processes
    • Manage team scheduling with operational needs and volumes
    • Design and implement practical processes for sorting, minor garment repairs and upcycling based on the direction provided by the Reuse Manager
    • Optimise existing processes to increase throughput, reduce waste and improve operational efficiency
    • Track and report team performance using volume/productivity KPIs
    • Collaborate with the Reuse Manager to monitor the financial impact of the operation and provide regular updates

    Key Skills

    • Proven experience in an operational hands-on supervisory role, ideally in a production, logistics, or garment processing environment, with a focus on supervising teams and improving process efficiency
    • Good understanding of process optimisation, quality control and productivity management
    • Knowledge or interest in upcycling and sustainability practices within the textile or garment sector
    • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and process optimisation in a fast-paced environment
    • Good team management skills with the ability to motivate and train staff
    • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and provide actionable feedback to senior managers
