Epinay Business & Enterprise School is an outstanding special school currently providing around 270 places to pupils from KS1 to KS5. Our pupils have significant learning difficulties and/or diagnosed learning disabilities who are working significantly below age related expectations. Many experience barriers in cognition, processing, literacy, numeracy and communication which require highly specialised teaching approaches.
All pupils have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and benefit from personalised learning programmes, specialist teaching approaches and a holistic, multi-disciplinary model to education. In addition to their learning needs, pupils may have some social communication differences, speech and language needs, sensory processing differences and a diagnosis of Autism. Some pupils may also present with social vulnerability and require targeted support to develop independence and resilience.

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and highly motivated Safeguarding, Behaviour & Attendance Worker to join our dedicated team.
As a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will work across the school to support students and families on a range of issues including safeguarding, attendance and behaviour. This position requires experience of working with children, parents/carers and other professionals as well as knowledge and experience of safeguarding referral processes, behaviour management and attendance protocols.
For this non-classroom based role, you will provide pastoral, emotional and practical support to students and families, helping to remove barriers to learning, improve attendance, support emotional regulation and promote positive outcomes for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Working with the Senior Leadership and Management Team, you will devise and implement intervention strategies to improve safeguarding, attendance and behaviour outcomes across the school.

The school is committed to investing in our staff and developing expertise in specialist SEND practice. We offer high quality CPD opportunities on a regular basis and opportunities to work alongside and learn from therapists and other multi disciplinary professionals. You will have access to accredited training where appropriate and regular instructional coaching and processional dialogue. There are also opportunities to contribute to whole school improvement.

- Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Attendance at and report sharing for meetings (eg LAC reviews, Early Help meetings, Care Team meetings).
- Provide support for students experiencing emotional, social or behavioural challenges.
- Plan and deliver interventions to support emotional regulation, resilience and wellbeing.
- Work directly with families to identify and reduce barriers to education.
- Promote positive attendance and punctuality through early intervention and support.
- Conduct home visits where appropriate.
- Support students and families during times of crisis, anxiety or dysregulation.
- Promote positive relationships between home and school.
- Develop opportunities for parents and carers to share experiences, access information and engage with school life.
