This role requires warmth and empathy, alongside sound professional judgement and the confidence to have sensitive and sometimes challenging conversations. You will need to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and keep children’s welfare at the centre of your decisions.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience of safeguarding children, including designated child protection training and experience; Has experience of working in the primary phase and supporting children with social and emotional needs;

Understands the challenges facing vulnerable children and families and can coordinate appropriate support; Can build positive relationships with parents and carers, combining practical help with clear expectations;

Can use attendance and behaviour information to identify concerns, plan interventions and evaluate their impact;

Has a nurturing approach to behaviour, underpinned by high expectations and consistent practice;

Communicates effectively with colleagues and external professionals and can contribute confidently to multi-agency meetings;

Is organised, maintains accurate records and understands the importance of confidentiality and appropriate information sharing;

Can work independently, exercise initiative and contribute positively to a team;

Remains calm under pressure and is confident in exercising professional challenge;

Is committed to inclusion and to improving outcomes for children with additional needs;

Is approachable, patient and resilient, with a positive outlook and a sense of humour.

We can offer:

An important role in strengthening pastoral support and inclusion at St Helen’s;

Support from school leaders and colleagues across Enhance Academy Trust; A forward-thinking Trust that takes professional development, workload and staff wellbeing seriously;

Relevant training and opportunities to develop your professional practice; The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children and their families.
