
Safeguarding Support Officer
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at North Herts Council to help ensure we safeguard and protect our most vulnerable service users. The Safeguarding Support Officer works alongside the Safeguarding Team Leader and other colleagues across the organisation to ensure we protect children and adults throughout our services.
Whether you have worked in local government or other sectors, we are looking for someone with passion, commitment and transferrable skills and knowledge who has worked with complex cases and supported vulnerable individuals and families. If you’re keen to learn, you will be supported to gain experience and knowledge and access excellent learning and development opportunities.

The experience you will bring:
- Ensuring safeguarding policies take into account local and national changes
- Supporting the learning and development of colleagues so that they too can safeguard our most vulnerable service users
- Developing strong relationships with partners to enable multi agency working
- Maintaining accurate records of all safeguarding incidents and referrals
- Advocating the importance of adherence to safeguarding protocols with colleagues at all levels
- Enabling organisations to continually improve safeguarding practice through the completion of audits and organisation wide action planning

Salary range
- £27,943 - £34,618 per year
