Due to the retirement of our long-standing and much-loved Business Manager, we are looking to recruit someone who will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the school’s support functions and who will help our whole school community to thrive.

Are you an organised, strategic professional who has what it takes to keep a busy school running smoothly?
Are you motivated to make a real difference behind the scenes to ensure the best possible education for our children?
Do you take a proactive, solution-focused approach when faced with challenges?
Are you a team player who will build strong relationships with staff, governors, parents and the local community to ensure that our school is the best that it can be?

If so, we would love to hear from you!

At Redlands, we are on a mission to make our school the best it can possibly be. Our school motto’ Proud to be Redlands; Proud to be me’ is a shortened version of our school mission statement and is woven into everything that we do. We have a wonderful school community and the most enthusiastic and positive children we could wish for who really do deserve the best.

We are looking for a School Business Manager:

  • Who will enable successful teaching and learning across the school through supporting the Head Teachers, Governors, staff and pupils
  • Who will lead key business areas including finance, administration, IT support, personnel, premises and health and safety management
  • Who can lead and improve systems and processes to ensure accurate and efficient working practices
  • Who will work with the Head Teachers to identify priorities and contribute to strategic planning in line with the school’s development plans
  • Who has experience of managing and developing staff, setting clear expectations and ensuring deadlines and standards are met
  • Who demonstrates excellent communication, discretion and the ability to resolve complex and sensitive issues calmly and effectively
  • Who will attend Governors’ meetings as required to report on key business areas
  • Who will work flexibly to meet changing demands and priorities
  • Who will actively safeguard and promote the safety and welfare of all pupils at all times

We can offer the successful candidate the following:

• A comprehensive induction programme and access to on-going CPD
• A friendly staff team who helps and supports each other
• A dedicated leadership team who values staff well being
• A supportive governing body
• Wonderful children who are enthusiastic about their learning
• A learning community striving to be the best that it can be

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm and Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed. We recommend that you visit us during the school day so that you can experience our strong family ethos for yourself. However, we realise that this is not always possible and, where this is the case, we are happy to show you around after school or to answer any questions you may have on the telephone.

Application forms and further details are available on the school website, Vacancies | Redlands Primary and Nursery School for collection at the school office or by email at office@redlands.notts.sch.uk

Your application should include a supporting letter of no more than 1000 words setting out why you should be considered for the post, what you believe you can bring to the role and giving details of the skills and experience that would make you a suitable candidate.

The closing date is Tuesday 13 October 2026 at 5.00 pm. Please assume that your application has been unsuccessful if you have not had a response by 6 November 2026.
