
School Chef
Hours: 35 hours per week – Monday – Friday 7.30am - 2.30pm
Term time only – 39 weeks + 6 weeks holiday allowance
Brookways School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic School Chef to join our team. You will play a key role in preparing nutritious, delicious meals for our students, ensuring they have the energy to learn and grow.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare and cook a variety of healthy meals in line with school menus and dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Manage food storage, stock levels, and kitchen supplies.
- Follow food safety regulations and school policies.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to serve meals on time.
- Assist in planning menus to provide balanced and appealing meals for students.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in catering, preferably in a school or similar environment.
- A good understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Friendly and approachable, with a passion for providing great food.
- Relevant food hygiene qualifications

Brookways School is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
