Pay Scale: Grade 3 SCP4
Start Date: as soon as possible (subject to pre-employment and safeguarding checks)
Cefn Fforest Primary School wish to appoint a new caretaker who will maintain high standards of health & safety of the building and school environment.
We are looking for a proactive Caretaker who is able to work practically on a day-to-day basis, someone who can particularly turn their hand to all things practical - building, painting & decorating and supporting the overall DIY/ fixing aspects of running a school.
We are looking for a person who:
- Has experience of building maintenance.
- Understands fire safety and has a general knowledge of health and safety.
- Has a committed, flexible and reliable attitude and as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Has high expectations of personal and others’ safety, especially of pupils.
- Has excellent DIY skills, ready to undertake general repairs and maintenance with confidence.
- Is willing to go ‘the extra mile’ for staff and pupils.
- Is a committed and efficient worker who will be able to be flexible, use their own initiative and be proactive in solving problems.
- Has the ability to contribute to the security, safety and day-to-day running of the school premises and site.
- Is prepared to undertake any relevant training.
