Position: School Site Officer

Salary: Scale 5, Spinal point 12-17

Hours of work: Full Time (36 hours per week) All year round

Contract Term: Permanent

Closing Date: 14th September 2026

Exciting Opportunity for School Site Officer Caretaker

We are looking for an enthusiastic School Site Officer and Caretaker to look after our school premises. This is a busy and challenging role and will require some flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the school.

Main Duties and Responsibilities include

· Keeping the school and grounds safe, secure, tidy, presentable, free of litter and debris daily.

· Small repair works and maintenance

· Minor refurbishment and redecoration.

· Opening the buildings in the morning and locking up at the end of the day.

· Arming alarm systems and overseeing entry points to the school premises.

· Some cleaning and janitorial duties. (School has outsourced cleaning contractors)

· Gardening duties and weed maintenance.

· Porterage of stock, furniture, equipment and other items within the school building.

· To receive deliveries and move to appropriate storage locations.

· Reporting of repairs or maintenance issues to the SBM or SLT.

· To plan, organise and oversee work being carried out on the premises by external contractors.

· To carry out and record regular safety equipment tests such as; Fire drills, Fire alarms, Emergency lighting.

· Ensure annual maintenance paperwork (PAT testing) is compliant.

· Maintain and update our premises management system.

· Maintain Health and Safety record.

· Implement H&S Action Plan.
