Job description

About the role

SLC have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Security Analyst – Security Engineering to join SLC’s Cyber Security team within the Technology Group. This is a chance to take part in the security of SLC systems by engineering the security platforms and services. This includes monitoring and maintenance of a range of security controls which protect our infrastructure and data.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems remain compliant with regulatory and PCI-DSS requirements, while keeping our security toolsets across on‑premise and cloud environments running at peak performance. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with technical teams, vendors and cross‑functional partners to resolve issues, enhance controls and shape project‑specific security criteria. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement by identifying enhancements, tuning controls and providing expert guidance across the Technology Group.

Person specification

What you bring:

  • A strong background in Cyber and Information Security, with good understanding of various security technologies (e.g. WAF, EDR/XDR, NAC, PAM, IAM, SIEM/SOAR)

  • Proven experience in a technical role with exposure to infrastructure and networking requirements, including knowledge of UNIX, Windows, and common networking protocols

  • Strong analytical skills to gather relevant information, analyse issues, and implement solutions, particularly in monitoring, investigating, and resolving issues across different platforms

  • Familiarity with industry standards like NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS, as well as experience ensuring compliance with regulations such as PCI-DSS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security standards to both technical and non-technical teams
