The Headteacher and Governors wish to appoint an excellent SENCO to join our friendly, hardworking team from January 2027.

We are looking for someone with experience in SEN leadership in a primary school who has proven impact on the teaching and learning of children.

We are looking for someone who can bring knowledge of effective practice and a high level of professionalism to our school.

We are looking for a SENCO who:

• Values our children’s safety and wellbeing and take pride in their achievements
• Can inspire children in their learning and provides support to other adults to deliver at the same high standard
• Can coach, support and line-manage staff including holding them to account for their practice and provision
• Has high level organisational qualities and is efficient in meeting deadlines
• Seeks to effectively support every child in reaching their full potential in the role of strategic lead for special educational needs
• Has experience in teaching and assessing children, planning, delivering and monitoring effective interventions
• Provides a calm and measured professional approach and is able to give an objective view
• Can build strong relationships with children, staff, parents, governors and the wider community
• Participates fully in all aspects of school life

Successful completion of the National Award for SENCO is essential to support our school to move forward. A commitment to complete ongoing training is required.
