Location: Work from home with ability to travel across Worcestershire county

Team: SEND Improvement
Fixed Term Contract: End date 31st March 2028

Are you passionate about improving information, advice and support for children and young people with SEND and their families?

We are looking for a motivated and organised Local Offer Co-ordinator to lead the ongoing development, review and maintenance of Worcestershire’s SEND Local Offer. This is an important role at the heart of the local area partnership, helping to ensure that families, children and young people, practitioners and partners can access clear, accurate, accessible and trusted information when they need it.

The Local Offer is a key resource for families navigating the SEND system. You will help strengthen it as a first point of call for information, advice and support, ensuring it reflects local pathways, services and priorities and is shaped by the lived experience of children, young people and parent carers.

In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across education, health, social care, communications, digital teams, the voluntary and community sector, Worcestershire Parent Carer Forum, Voices United, SENDIASS, education settings and wider partnership routes. You will develop and maintain strong links with local community networks, voluntary and community sector organisations and trusted community representatives to extend the reach of the Local Offer, particularly to families who may be less likely to access established SEND information and participation routes. You will gather feedback, support user testing, identify gaps, improve content and help demonstrate how the Local Offer is making a positive difference.

You will also support the Local Inclusion Support online resource for education settings and practitioners, ensuring information is current, relevant and aligned with Worcestershire’s SEND priorities.

We are looking for someone who has strong knowledge and experience of SEND, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible content for different audiences. You will be confident working with families, children and young people, practitioners and partners, and committed to rebuilding and maintaining trust through listening, responding and closing the loop on feedback.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving how children, young people, families and professionals access information and support across Worcestershire.

About you

You will bring:

  • Significant experience of working with children and young people with SEND and their families
  • Experience of working in a SEND, education, community, information, advice or family support setting
  • Strong understanding of the SEND system and the information needs of families
  • Excellent communication, engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Experience of developing or reviewing clear and accessible information
  • The ability to work across services and partners to drive improvement
  • A commitment to co-production, inclusion, accessibility and improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND

Experience of website content management, communications, social media, engagement events or user testing would be an advantage.

About the role

You will:

  • Co-ordinate development and maintenance of the SEND Local Offer
  • Work with services and partners to keep information accurate, accessible and up to date
  • Gather and act on feedback from children, young people, parent carers and practitioners
  • Support engagement activity, roadshows and communication campaigns
  • Build and maintain relationships with community networks, voluntary and community sector organisations and trusted representatives to reach families who may be less likely to use established SEND information and participation routes
  • Use feedback, analytics and partnership intelligence to identify gaps and improvements
  • Support the development of the Local Inclusion Support online resource
  • Report on progress, impact, engagement activity and improvement actions

Additional information

This role will require the ability to travel across Worcestershire, including to areas with limited public transport. Some evening and weekend work may be required to support engagement activity and events.

The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
