We are recruiting a Senior Accountant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 hours
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Social Services Finance Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £45,718 - £48,710 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

We are seeking a senior accountant to assist the adult social care division in preparing and monitoring its annual budget. The candidate must possess excellent communication skills and be able to explain complex financial information in a way that is comprehensible to individuals without finance expertise.

Key responsibilities of the role will include ensuring the Accountancy Team provides a professional, efficient and effective service that will be responsive to the needs of Elected Members, officers, care providers and service users, Co-ordinating the preparation of budgets and the closure of accounts for the Social Services Directorate and assisting budget holders to manage budgets effectively.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • AAT or CCAB part qualified
  • Experience acquired within a financial management post
  • The ability to travel around the borough
