About the role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Applications Support Officer to join our IT Applications team, supporting critical systems within Adult Social Care. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in both the day-to-day support of existing applications and the implementation of a new Adult Social Care system that will transform service delivery and improve outcomes for vulnerable adults.


What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities

Provide expert support for Adult Social Care applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and user satisfaction.

Assist as a technical lead in the implementation of a new Adult Social Care system, working closely with suppliers, stakeholders, and project teams.

Collaborate with service users to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver effective solutions.

Support data migration, system configuration, testing, and go-live activities.

Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and knowledge bases.

Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.

Ensure compliance with data protection, security, and accessibility standards.

About you

you’ll bring strong experience in application support, ideally within Adult Social Care or similar public sector environments, and be confident working across both operational and project contexts.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience supporting complex business applications.
  • Knowledge of Adult Social Care processes and systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with system implementation, configuration, and testing.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable

  • Experience with data migration and integration tools.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management tools.
  • Understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks in Adult Social Care.
