
Senior Business Analyst
Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Digital Change Team.
The Digital Change team designs, develops, and improves digital services used by the public, providers, and staff, working to the Government Service Standard.
The postholder will play a pivotal role in analysing and articulating business needs, translating them into epics, requirements, user stories and processes, and overseeing the maintenance of the process catalogue as our key systems are developed and enhanced. Working closely with teams across Ofsted, you will help shape systems and processes that meet organisational needs, providing credible analysis, recommending solution options, and acting as a vital link between the business and digital delivery teams.

- Experience of leading the development of BA approaches to solve organisational problems using a range of recognised Business Analysis tools and techniques.
- Experience of working with business owners in both agile and waterfall environments to turn business needs into user stories and/or documented requirements.
- Experience of managing relationships with stakeholders across an organisation. This should include demonstrating the ability to be proactive, approachable, communicative and understanding their needs.

The selection panel will assess your application based on your evidence you have provided against the essential criteria as set out in the person specification.
You will also be asked to provide information within the “Employer/Activity History” section of the application form. This information is equivalent to the information you would provide on a CV setting out your career history (this may be used in the sifting process).

Interview
Candidates who pass the benchmark at the shortlisting stage will be invited to an interview where you will be assessed against a combination of the the Civil Service behaviours and the technical/experience skills set out in section 3 of the job specification.
Interviews will be held remotely via Microsoft Teams during the week commencing 13 April 2026.
Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.
