Job description
We are looking for inspiring Senior Business Managers who can drive delivery, solve problems, and make things happen in an Operational Delivery environment.
In these roles, you will take ownership of key stakeholder relationships across RPA, the Defra Group and the wider Civil Service, championing collaboration and ensuring our work lands with impact.
You will play a critical part in both the operational and strategic leadership of the Agency, working flexibly across any RPA team that needs expert business management support.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Communicating clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders across RPA, the Defra Group and external partners to support strong engagement and business performance
- Using data and insight to assess performance, identify issues, and explain findings in a simple, meaningful way that supports RPA’s strategy and People Plan
- Leading and engaging teams in a straightforward, honest way that helps drive cultural change and future organisational direction
- Building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of key agency objectives and future delivery
- Working with colleagues to interpret complex data and present it to senior leaders in a clear, accessible format while meeting GDPR requirements
- Planning and delivering workloads, balancing real time demands with forward planning to ensure accurate and timely delivery whilst taking into consideration continuous improvement
- Preparing and delivering clear written or verbal presentations, often using Microsoft tools, to a variety of audiences
- Providing line management where required, including managing remote team members
- Be willing to travel if the role requires it
- Posts may sit in any RPA Directorate depending on business need

Location
As part of the pre-employment process for this post, successful candidate(s) will be able to agree a contractual workplace from those locations listed in this advert. The agreed contractual workplace is then the substantive and permanent place of work for the successful candidate(s)
Where the location is ‘National’ the successful appointee should discuss and agree an appropriate contractual location in line with both RPA’s location policy and site capacity, prior to proceeding with pre-employment processes.
The agreed amount of time spent at a workplace for this post will reflect the requirement for Civil Servants to spend at least 60% of their working time in an organisation workplace with the option to work the remaining time flexibly from home. Working time spent at a workplace may include time spent at other organisational locations including field-based operational locations, together with supplier, customer or partner locations. This is a non-contractual agreement which is consistent with common Civil Service expectations.
Travel costs to non-contractual workplaces will be subject to departmental travel and subsistence policies. Travel costs to contractual workplaces are the responsibility of the employee.
The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location, and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.

Salary
New entrants to the Civil Service are expected to start on the minimum of the pay band.
Reserve List
A reserve list may be held for a period of 12 months from which further appointments can be made.
