As our Senior Commercial Intelligence & Management Information (MI) Lead, you will help shape strategic decisions by turning commercial, financial and supplier‑risk data into insight that leaders can act on. You’ll design and own our commercial MI and dashboards, advise senior stakeholders, and raise the bar on data quality and reporting. From due diligence and open‑book reviews to price‑change challenge and scenario modelling, you’ll translate complex information into clear recommendations that drive value for money and protect delivery. We’re looking for a hands‑on analyst‑consultant with strong Power BI and modelling skills, a sharp eye for data quality, and the credibility to influence boards and senior teams. Duties and Responsibilities:OverviewLead the roadmap for commercial MI and dashboards (Power BI), surfacing performance, value, risk and forecasted pressure points.
Translate complex datasets into strategic recommendations for senior stakeholders and governance forums (e.g., Commercial Boards, Investment Panels).Own data definitions, lineage and controls; ensure reporting aligns to Government Commercial Function standards and NCA governance requirementsProvide expert consultancy on supplier financial health, market dynamics and value‑for‑money considerations to Commercial, Finance and OperationsLead financial due diligence on bidders/suppliers; monitor indicators of financial distress and market risk.Develop and maintain commercial financial models for high‑value ("gold") contracts, including scenario/sensitivity analysis for negotiation and decision points.Produce concise, insight‑rich reports on supplier/contract financial performance, trends and implications for delivery and risk.Lead annual open‑book reviews; validate completeness/accuracy of supplier accounts (including gainshare) and track remediation actions.Assess price‑change proposals for existing and new services; provide evidence‑based challenge and recommendationsDrive continuous improvement across MI, modelling methods and reporting cadences; champion a data‑driven culture across commercial teams.Person specification
