As a Senior Data Developer, you will collaborate with the Digital Development Manager to deliver innovative, user-centric, and design-led technical solutions. You will be fundamental to unlocking the value of the Councils' data and ensuring it is accurate, accessible, and secure. You will take the lead on managing system data integrity, work with other developers to design and implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) operations, and establish robust data pipelines.

By promoting a "data-driven" culture, you will support end users to make informed decisions through effective business intelligence. This role acts as an enabler for the wider organisation.

You will be responsible for providing supervisory support, training, and technical guidance to operational staff and managers, enabling them to confidently create, use, and manage their own departmental dashboards and reports. You will also work with software suppliers and third-party partners to ensure high-quality data extraction and API integrations.

To succeed, you will have demonstrable skills in SQL and data querying, alongside experience with ETL tools and designing data pipelines. You will have proficiency in data visualisation and dashboarding tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to translate complex data concepts into accessible language for non-technical operational staff. You will also be expected to share your data-specific skills and knowledge with other developers and apprentices within the team to build resilience and ensure a balanced workload.

Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for more details.

If this sounds like the role for you, we look forward to receiving your application!
