Senior Delivery Officer
We are St Helens Borough Council
Located in the heart of the Northwest close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a modernising Council which is passionate and ambitious for the children and families we support, our communities and our workforce. As part of our transformation journey, we continue to build on our progress and put children firmly at the centre of our care. We can only do this because of our highly valued, skilled, and supported workforce.
Licensing Services is a very busy team. If you like being busy and are interested in working in a complex legal environment then this could be the role for you.
Roles That Matter
As a Senior Delivery Officer working in Licensing Services you will be one of two postholders within the team who work with our Licensing Assistants, Apprentices and Agency staff. The service deals with thousands of licensing and local search enquiries every year and issues licences for pubs, clubs, taxis, scrap metal dealers, wedding venues and gambling establishments. You will be responsible for co-ordinating and allocating work, work monitoring, and ensuring that all the responsibilities of the service are completed to statutory deadlines. We ideally need someone who is experienced in supervising a team and if you have worked in licensing previously then this would be useful, however full training will be provided.
You will work a hybrid agile model with 2 days based in the office, however the post will be full time office based until completion of training.
This post has been allocated as a training and development opportunity so if you do not have the required experience, this is not a barrier to your application. The successful post holder will receive access to specialist licensing training, on the job coaching, NVQ in Leadership along with, in the longer term if suitable, the opportunity to join development programmes within the Council.
If this sounds like the opportunity you've been waiting for, this could be for you.
