Organisational Development & Culture
Northumberland County Council
Band 8 | Permanent | Full‑time
Location: Hybrid (Northumberland / flexible working)
Northumberland County Council is undergoing a major transformation to modernise how we work, strengthen leadership, and create a modern, inclusive and high‑performing organisation that puts residents first.
As part of this, we are redesigning our Organisational Development & Culture (OD&C) service and are recruiting Senior OD Advisers to play a critical role in building capability and supporting organisational change.
For our Senior Digital Skills Adviser role, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about digital transformation and can play a key role in driving digital change across the organisation.
You will support colleagues to adopt and build confidence in smart digital solutions - helping us adapt, improve and embed new ways of working. You’ll lead and support readiness for digital transformation, translating organisational priorities into practical, user‑centred solutions that improve how people work.
This role is about more than training. It’s about enabling real change — using campaigns, communication, learning and practical support to increase adoption of digital products (including Microsoft 365), and helping colleagues use technology confidently to work more efficiently and effectively.
About the role
This role is for you if you bring:
- Experience supporting digital adoption and building workforce confidence in digital tools
- Strong understanding of the digital workplace (e.g. Microsoft 365) and how it enables modern ways of working
- A practical, user‑centred approach to helping colleagues adopt and sustain new ways of working
About You – what we’re looking for
- Experience designing and delivering digital capability or adoption solutions
- Confidence supporting behaviour change and addressing barriers to digital adoption
- Ability to translate organisational priorities into practical, accessible solutions that improve how people work
OD Generalist Foundation
You will bring a strong organisational development foundation alongside your digital skills expertise, ensuring digital capability building and adoption leads to meaningful change in how people work.
You’ll be confident diagnosing organisational and behavioural challenges and working with leaders to shape practical, evidence‑led solutions that build capability and embed new ways of working.
You will connect digital enablement with OD practice - ensuring solutions are relevant, applied and aligned to organisational priorities.
