About the role:

Located in South-East Essex, with miles of coastline, home to London Southend Airport and benefitting from good road and rail links, Rochford is a prosperous community with a small and friendly Environmental Health team, that strives to make a positive difference to its residents.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Environmental Health officer to join our busy multi-disciplinary Environmental Health team. The post-holder will retain a specialism in Environmental Protection and main responsibilities will include investigating allegations of statutory nuisance and provision of advice and guidance to stakeholders. You will also be required to interpret acoustic reports in respond to consultations.

We recognise that every candidate will bring different strengths and experience to the role. Training and support will be provided to help the successful applicant develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to carry out the full range of duties, including any service-specific procedures, systems and specialist technical requirements.

About you:

The successful applicant will have sound knowledge of Environmental Protection legislation and guidance as well as effective organisational and communication skills. A commitment to provision of high standards of customer service are also essential and the officer will be expected to contribute positively to the progression of the service. You must hold a full, current driving licence and have use of a vehicle.
