    An opportunity has become available to join the Homes and Adult Social Care team as Senior Finance Officer, providing financial and management accounting services for Housing General Fund.

    This role is also being offered on a part time/job share basis.

    Office Day: Successful candidates are required to attend the office every Thursday.

    Fixed term: Until March 2027

    Interview date: Thursday 15th January 2025

    About the role

    As a Senior Finance Officer, you will provide support to the Housing department. Your duties will include:

    • Preparing accurate forecasts for expenditure and income throughout the year
    • Identifying and analysing any discrepancies within the budget
    • Using tools such as Microsoft Excel to produce clear financial reports
    • Assist budget holders and senior managers in improving financial performance, securing value for money, and delivering better service outcome.

    About You

    • Methodical and highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
    • Confident in using Excel spreadsheets
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
    • Capable of communicating financial information clearly and effectively to non-finance colleagues

    Additional information

    Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
