Job summary
Working in a team with our Head of Financial Due Diligence, the Senior Financial Analysis and Credit Risk Manager will play a critical role in performing and reviewing risk-based financial due diligence and credit risk assessments on Homes England’s partners including SME’s, Plc’s, LLP’s, Local Authorities and Registered Providers within the housebuilding and construction sectors.
The job holder will be a qualified chartered accountant or qualified banker with experience of credit risk assessment and/or financial analysis within an accountancy/lending institution. They will be required to undertake detailed financial analysis to support the management and mitigation of credit risk in line with risk appetite.
This includes the calculation and in-depth analysis of complex financial and project specific information to provide a professional opinion on the creditworthiness of our partners. You will be joining our small but highly skilled and professional team who are committed to making positive change in how risk is managed at Homes England.

Job description
You'll be comfortable supporting Homes England management with complex financial issues, aiming to give a sound professional opinion on the financial standing of a diverse range of partners. You will be proficient in influencing decision makers on the financial standing of potential Homes England partners and effectively communicating (both written and verbal) key risks, issues and recommendations to support decision making.

You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a Risk team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
As an experienced finance professional you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
Person specification
Essential:
Qualified chartered accountant or qualified Banker with experience of credit risk management and/or financial analysis within accountancy/lending institution.
Experience:
Essential:
- Proven track record of conducting in-depth financial analysis in an accounting/lending institution or comparable organisation
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into clear opinions and recommendations
- Experience of working and communicating with all levels of personnel
- Experience of positively influencing colleagues at all levels of the organisation
- Demonstrable track record of strong performance, attention to detail, working both independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Experience within a property / regeneration / housing environment
- Experience within the Government environment
- Experience within a banking and or financial/services environment
- Experience of initiating and delivering process improvements
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
- Proficient in the use of standard Office IT products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to successfully manage challenging workloads and meet deadlines
- Must be able to absorb additional work and contribute to wider team objectives and priorities
- Ability to present detailed financial information in an accurate, clear and understandable way to a variety of audiences in Homes England
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop individuals and teams
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the UK housing market and issues affecting this and the role of Homes England
