Job description
Use all your workforce planning skills to support our global mission
When you join us in this critical role, you’ll work in partnership with senior leaders as you build our organisational capability and capacity. You’ll achieve this through the use of highly effective operational and strategic workforce planning, the enabling of successful performance and talent management, and the identification of creative people solutions. Liaising with key stakeholders as you focus on developing, delivering and linking our business and people strategies, you’ll also implement and embed our strategic workforce planning framework. This will ensure that successful recruitment plans fulfil customer needs and help us take advantage of new business opportunities.
But your work won’t stop here – we’ll also expect you to address a wide range of workforce challenges, provide insights into the development and delivery of people strategies, policies and procedures, and build effective relationships with key stakeholders. Analysing and gathering insights from HR and business data analytics, performance, surveys and other feedback, you’ll also coach line managers and senior leaders in all aspects of people development while supporting transformational change.
Help to implement HR policies that protect the UK’s interests around the world
With CIPD accreditation and plenty of operational HR experience, you’ll have a strong track record of implementing leadership and talent management development initiatives. An inspirational and motivating leader and networker, you’ll have experience of strategic workforce and capacity planning in a complex organisation, with a particular focus on succession and capability.
Ready to build positive, constructive relationships with senior colleagues and stakeholders, and skilled at using data and evidence to make effective decisions, you’ll possess strong business partnering and consultancy skills and have expert knowledge of employment law and HR best practice. In addition, a Level 7 CIPD qualification or its equivalent would be desirable, as would an understanding of Civil Service HR policies and controls, and working in a commercial environment would be an advantage.
Grow your career in the biggest way possible
When you join us, you’ll be contributing to protecting the nation’s interests at home and overseas. How will we help you in return? We offer a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service pension. While working in the UK you’ll have access to an on-site gym, nursery, canteen, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there.
