    As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leaders to shape the people agenda for a significant portfolio, ensuring people strategy, culture and capability support excellent services and outcomes for our residents.

    What the role is all about

    As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will own and deliver the People Plan for a major portfolio within the organisation. Acting as the strategic interface between the business and HR, you will provide high‑quality advice, challenge and support across the full people agenda.

    You will work closely with Executive Directors, Directors and Heads of Service, and lead, coach and develop HR Business Partners to ensure a consistently high standard of partnering across the organisation.

    You will enable organisational success by:

    • Influencing senior decision‑making through credible, evidence‑based people advice.
    • Creating and delivering People Plans that improve performance, capability and culture.
    • Anticipating workforce and employee relations risks and shaping proactive solutions.
    • Enabling and embedding change and transformation programmes.
    • Strengthening leadership capability through coaching and challenge.

    Your impact will be seen through stronger leadership, clearer structures and improved workforce outcomes.

    How you'll do it

    • Own and deliver the People Plan for your portfolio, aligned to the People Strategy and organisational priorities.
    • Partner senior leaders on organisational effectiveness, leadership, culture and workforce decisions.
    • Act as the strategic link between the business and HR Centres of Expertise.
    • Lead, coach and develop HR Business Partners, setting clear expectations and standards.
    • Lead workforce planning, talent and succession activity.
    • Lead organisational design and change programmes.
    • Manage complex ER and workforce risks as a senior escalation point.
    • Ensure HR governance, standards and frameworks are applied consistently.
    • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion.

    The ideal candidate

    Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.

    Essential

    • Significant senior‑level HR partnering experience in a complex environment.
    • Strong experience of organisational design, workforce planning and change.
    • Credible influencing and coaching skills at senior leadership level.
    • Excellent judgement, consultancy and problem‑solving skills.
    • Confident use of people insight and data.
    • Experience leading and developing HR professionals.
    • CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent experience.

    Desirable

    • Experience in a regulated or public‑facing sector.
    • Experience supporting large‑scale transformation.
