In this role, you will be the trusted partner to managers across the Council and partner organisations You will coach, mentor, and guide leaders to achieve their goals, while ensuring our HR service is proactive, supportive, and future-focused. Think of yourself as the bridge between strategy and people helping us grow, transform, and deliver for our communities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Advising and guiding managers on HR matters with confidence and clarity.
  • Keeping policies fresh and fit-for-purpose, ensuring they empower rather than restrict.
  • Partnering with leaders to align HR support with wider business objectives.
  • Delivering a full HR service including case management, recruitment, workforce planning wellbeing, change management, and pensions.
  • Championing employee engagement and development, making sure our people feel supported, valued, and ready to thrive.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation while driving innovation and organisational growth.

What We Are Looking For

  • Graduate membership of the CIPD (or working towards).
  • Proven HR experience advising managers at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law across the HR spectrum.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence, inspire, and build trust.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge and innovate.
  • The ability to align organisational ambitions with the needs and aspirations of our colleagues.
