Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Contracts and Procurement Lawyer, with at 5 years experience, to handle complex contract work arising and deputise for the Principal Lawyer as required. You will also be required to manage a group of staff within the team on a day to day basis.

What’s the role?

The role will include providing advice and assistance with legal documentation and negotiation with partners or preferred bidders, including in relation to joint commissioning initiatives with the Health Authority or other local authorities. You will be required to support the Principal Lawyer in advising and drafting contracts and protocols on a wide range of public private partnership arrangements. You will have a team to manage on a day to day basis.

What we’re looking for

You must be a Qualified Solicitor/Barrister or Fellow of CILEX in Wales and England with at least 5 years PQE (or equivalent) in property law and hold a Practising Certificate on commencement of the role.

We are looking for someone that can ensure legal advice and assistance is provided efficiently and expeditiously both personally and by other staff within the team. You will need to be able to manage and co-ordinate the work of staff and provide advice, guidance and direction as necessary. You will undertake a personal caseload of the more complex contract advice, the preparation of complex and unique forms of contract and advise on any matters of contract and procurement law.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Salary

£63,816 to £63,816 per annum (PO8)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
