Are you a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with a passion for delivering sustainable, technically sound building services solutions? We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Services Engineer to join our dynamic Project Design & Delivery (PDD) Team within Property and Infrastructure.

In this role, you will work closely with the Building Services Engineering Manager and other construction professionals to lead the mechanical services design on a wide range of building projects. These include LBC schools, corporate offices, housing, and community assets.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that all assigned projects meet technical, environmental, sustainability, programme, and financial criteria - while contributing to the ongoing development of our built environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading on the mechanical design aspects of building projects from concept through to completion
  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers, and project managers
  • Supporting the delivery of high-quality, sustainable mechanical systems in new and existing buildings. This includes public health systems and heating cooling and ventilation systems (HVAC).
  • Ensuring designs comply with current regulations, best practice, and council standards
  • Contributing to feasibility studies, design reports, and tender documentation
  • Helping to manage project budgets and timelines in alignment with overall delivery goals

About you

You are an experienced Mechanical Services Engineer with a strong track record of delivering and managing complex building services projects. You bring demonstrable expertise in contract administration and a solid understanding of your responsibilities under the role of Planning Supervisor. Proficient in mechanical design and calculations, you are confident in preparing documentation to support Building Control applications, particularly in line with Part L1 and L2 requirements.

Your technical skillset includes the ability to produce accurate drawings and schematics using CAD / BIM based software, and you are well-versed in current legislation and statutory requirements, including CDM regulations and asbestos regulations. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering - or equivalent qualifications or verifiable work-based experience - you combine technical knowledge with excellent organisational skills, enabling you to manage conflicting demands, meet fee targets, and deliver to tight deadlines.
