
Senior Practitioner - CYADS
Job Description
OverviewLondon Borough of Harrow is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join its CYADS (Children & Young Adults Disabilities Services).
We are seeking someone who can support CYADS 0-25 service with strong knowledge on Care Act 2014 & Children’s Act 1989. Furthermore, you will provide advice and support to Social Workers, Care Managers, and Social Care Assisstnat in the team on casework. This role will involve chairing some Professional Meetings/Case Conferences as appropriate, in addition to deputising and managing duty every day of the week as Duty Manager and supporting the duty system.
As Senior Practitioner, you will also be responsible for recording actions and decisions in a clear and robust way on the Mosaic database in addition to undertaking some complex enquiries, liaising with both internal and external colleagues as appropriate.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge of the legislation/policies that relate to the Adults adults’ agenda.
- Detailed working knowledge of guidance/procedures/relative to the service area.
- Significant experience in carrying out care management responsibilities in order to advise and guide less experienced staff.
- Experience of working “on duty” in any social work setting.
- Working Knowledge on Spreadsheets and Operational Management.
- Ability to write reports to a standard sufficient for them to be presented at internal and external forums.
- Ability to Supervise Social Workers about cases.
- Expert in MS office skills for adopting technology into processes.
- Have a Social Work Qualification i.e. CQSW, DipSW or equivalent.
- Social Worker England registered.
- Practice Educator / Best Interest Assessor or willing to train as a Practice Educator / Best Interest Assessor.
- Ability to travel for business purposes.
- Commitment to work occasional unsocial hours e.g. to carry out an evening visit or complete the oversight of an ongoing investigation.

Salary range
- £51,735 - £54,843 per year
