    Location: The post isin the Assessment to Intervention team (a2i) adult mental health based at St Mary's Hospital.

    This post comes under the S75 agreement.

    The A2i team is an established multi-disciplinary team offering routine holistic assessments for individuals within 4 weeks of the referral and interventions for up to 6 months dependant on identified need.

    Your new role

    We are looking for Senior Social Worker withprevious mental health experience and an ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will work with individuals and their families in a person-centred way, identifying the best resource to assist with service users needs, and finding creative ways to meet these. You will maintain high standards of care and act as a lead professional to several agreed case whilst promotingindependence, choice and wellbeing of service users and their carers in all aspects of their lives. You will offer comprehensive needs assessment, care plan and risk assessment ensuring the implementation and review of appropriate care and treatment. You will be fully conversant with statutory legislation and guidance and be expected to supervise qualified and unqualified staff as part of Portsmouth commitment to support and nurture its staff.

    Who is the person summary:

    You will be a Social Worker registered with Social Work England and have substantial social work experience with previous experience of working with individuals with mental health difficulties. You will have a thorough understanding of the legislation that governs the adult social care role and a comprehensive awareness of practice to safeguard adults. With a knowledge of Adult Social Care eligibility criteria, you will be able to effectively manage a caseload, have good evidence-based recording skills and have excellent assessment skills. With experience of being in a supervisory role, you will be a good communicator with the ability to deal with conflict and work on your own initiative, organising your own workload whilst responding to competing demands.
