The role:
The role of a Senior Architect involves advanced responsibilities, you will act as a subject-matter-expert for the ICT architecture landscape, founded on an extensive, demonstrable track-record of real-world, successful ICT architecture experience in Technical Architecture, or a technical design role. Plan and carry out skills/knowledge sharing and mentoring of Technical Architects and Service Analysts. You will typically be responsible for the implementation of business applications.
Key responsibilities:
- The role of Senior Technical Architect will provide expert knowledge of business application implementation, mapping interdependencies between technologies, process and projects. Identify, propose and support delivery of programmes of work that provide a logical and achievable path to deliver objectives whilst minimising risk and preventing rework
- Delivery of technical standards and architecture artifacts will be a key requirement of the Senior Technical Architect. Reusing existing technologies wherever possible, to provide cost reduction and exploit new business opportunities
- In the role Senior Technical Architect you will act as solution architect, responsible for delivering technical change within the existing Enterprise. Leading and/or participating in the development of high-quality technical process and documentation standards and templates to be used within ICT, which are appropriate to and tailored to meet the requirements of a range of audiences
- The role of Senior Technical Architect will work with technical experts across multiple disciplines and business owners who deliver Council services.
- Your demonstrable knowledge as a Senior Technical Architect will see you work across all areas of ICT, networks, security, application and data hosting, in addition to softer skills with projects and non-technical staff. You will be required to maintain a comprehensive and current understanding of the ICT marketplace, key trends across the public sector, and opportunities, backed up by first-hand experience of complex technologies including Cloud based infrastructures, virtualisation platforms, high-availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, and enterprise applications
- The role Senior Technical Architect will support other Designers in carrying out their assignments, identifying and delivering commonality: Common processes, common information, common infrastructure, and common standards, with the aim of delivering reduced Enterprise complexity, while supporting change and transformation across the Council

Salary range
- £56,673 - £62,580 per year
