We’re recruiting for one Senior TechnicalProduct Manager for one of our AWS platforms here at Justice Digital, Data and Science. You’ll be part of a warm, collaborative, and highly skilled community, working at the heart of how digital services across the Ministry of Justice are delivered at scale. You will own and develop one of our high profile and critical cloud hosting platforms within the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO).

This role aligns against the Senior Product manager rolefrom the Government Digital and Data Framework

Millions of people every year interact with MoJ services, and here at Justice Digital, Data and Science we play an important role in making the experience of all of our users simpler, faster, and better.

We have a clear vision – to develop a digitally-enabled justice system that works more simply for users - and we’re looking for talented people to help us achieve it. We’re making things better by building adaptable, effective services and making systems that are simple to use for staff and citizens. While challenging it is important and hugely rewarding.

Engineering in the Office of the CTO exists to accelerate the work of teams across Justice Digital, Data and Science. We focus on identifying shared user needs and organisational challenges, then delivering high quality platform products that address them – iteratively and at pace.

Our AWS platforms provide the department’s strategic hosting capability, forming a foundation for delivering a truly digital justice system. As Product Manager, you will lead the strategy and roadmap for a core hosting platform. Your goal is to meet the needs of teams across Justice Digital, Data and Science by enabling them to deploy and run applications safely, efficiently and with confidence. You’ll work closely with engineers, architects and delivery teams to understand needs, prioritise outcomes and balance day to day delivery with long term vision. Your focus will be on improving the hosting experience, reducing duplication and enabling faster, more reliable delivery of digital services.

This is a strategic product role with impact across multiple services and programmes. You will help shape how hosting is delivered across the organisation, supporting modernisation and strengthening the resilience and scalability of the MoJ’s digital estate. It’s a unique opportunity to work on a platform that underpins joined up justice services.

Alongside meaningful work, we’re committed to creating a place that’s great to work in. You’ll have access to excellent training, supportive professional networks and expert colleagues. You’ll also find flexible working, an inclusive culture and an environment where your voice truly matters.

  • Own and define the platform as a core hosting product, maintaining a clear value narrative that articulates how it enables secure, reliable and scalable hosting across Justice Digital, Data and Science services.
  • Develop and communicate a clear product strategy and roadmap for a strategic hosting platform, ensuring alignment across delivery teams, technical specialists, and senior stakeholders over time.
  • Form a deep understanding of the product and its users, supporting teams to make effective use of AWS cloud technologies to deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Use evidence, data, and user insights to drive decision making, considering the needs of internal users (e.g. delivery teams, system owners) alongside organisational and strategic objectives.
  • Work with engineers, user researchers and leadership to foster a user centred culture, ensuring the whole team understands and is guided by user needs.
  • Work closely with engineers, architects, and security to balance short term delivery needs with long term architectural goals, making informed trade-offs in a complex technical and organisational environment.
  • Actively participate in MOJ and cross government cloud communities, contributing to shared learning and best practice.
  • Partner with hosting and product leadership to shape long term hosting product strategy, challenging strategy assumptions, influencing stakeholders and championing user needs.
  • Champion product centred approaches, by coaching and guiding your team in good product practices, coaching other product managers and as an active participant in our product community, supporting the department to deliver great products and outcomes for our users.
