What is Shared Lives?
Shared Lives Carers open their homes and hearts to support adults aged 18 and over who may have a learning disability, autism, physical disability, sensory impairment, or mental health needs.
As a Shared Lives Carer, you will provide personalised support in a family and community setting, helping people to live fulfilling, independent lives and become active members of their local community.

- Long-Term Support Welcoming someone to live with you as part of your household on a long-term basis.

Our carers come from a wide range of backgrounds, including people who:

Payments
Shared Lives Carers receive payments in recognition of the support they provide.
Long-Term Support
- Care payment: £323.47 per week
- Contribution towards room, food and household costs: £137.01 per week
- Total potential weekly payment: £460.87
Short Breaks / Respite Support
- Care payment: £81.96 per night
- Contribution towards food and household costs: £8.34 per night
- Total potential payment: £90.30 per night
