Are you an experienced Technical Support professional looking for a Site Set-up & Support Engineer role? Do you have the drive and experience to help L&Q with its plans to invest, grow and transform its business to provide outstanding support to our Staff.

The Site Set-up & Support Engineer will be responsible for setting up, decommissioning, and supporting networks and IT equipment across all L&Q locations, including sales suites, construction sites, care homes, and offices throughout England. A key focus of this role is supporting the WAN Refresh Project by helping deliver new internet circuits to remote sites across the North and South regions. Responsibilities include conducting and coordinating site surveys, scheduling and overseeing installations, liaising with vendors and internal teams, resolving technical issues, tracking deployment progress, and ensuring smooth transitions to the new WAN infrastructure. This position plays an essential role in enabling L&Q’s operational needs and supporting its wider growth strategy.

Reporting into the Technical Services Manager, the Site Set-up & Support Engineer will be specifically aligned to the Service Delivery function, who’s focus it is to provide exceptional service to all customers, internal and external within the business.

Your impact in the role:

  • Be involved in the setting-up, decommissioning, and supporting of IT at L&Q sites.
  • Prioritise, progress and resolve technical queries and service requests in accordance with SLA’s, in a fast-paced, organisation.
  • Represent the team at project meetings
  • Be responsible for stakeholder and vendor management
  • Be able to propose improvements that will result in improved quality and productivity
  • Be involved in network monitoring activities.
  • Resolve issues in a competent manner, whilst communicating professionally with the customer and members of the Service Desk, Infrastructure and Professional Services teams.
  • Proactively propose measures to prevent incidents and provide technical advice on measures to fix on-site issues.

What you'll bring:

  • Strong understanding of networking technologies (WAN, LAN, routers, switches, internet circuits).
  • Experience setting up, troubleshooting, and decommissioning IT and network equipment.
  • Familiarity with site connectivity requirements and infrastructure installations.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Experience working with Cisco Meraki.
  • Experienced working with, troubleshooting and improving Windows Server technologies, Windows 11 and Office 365
  • Good understanding of Wi-Fi and networking
  • Strong documentation skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Project & Deployment Experience
  • Experience coordinating multi-site IT or network deployments.
  • Skilled in planning, scheduling, and managing site surveys and installations.
  • Ability to track project progress, manage documentation, and report on status.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and service providers.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
  • Strong communication skills for working with internal teams, external engineers, and site contacts.
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Organisational & Problem-Solving Skills
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and sites simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, especially when resolving on-site technical or logistical issues.
  • Should have very good incident management skills and troubleshooting capabilities to identify the root cause of issues with hands on capability – essential
  • Solid communication and diplomacy skills with a strong ability to persuade and influence
Flexibility & Travel
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various L&Q locations (sales suites, lodges, construction sites, offices) across England.
  • Should have Full UK driving license and have access to a car with business use insurance
