Thereafter you will be provided with a role in our ASYE programme and ongoing career pathway opportunities. If you have the ambition, drive, and qualities we are looking for, then please apply for our Social Work Apprenticeship Programme today! Interview process The selection process will be in two parts: Stage 1: Interviews with Birmingham Children's Trust (May- June) Stage 2: University interviews for shortlisted candidates (September)
About you We are looking for applicants who:
  • Can evidence suitable academic ability i.e. GCSE English (Grade A-C or 9-4) or equivalent i.e. functional skills English at level 2. Please note, to enrol onto the programme you must provide certificates to evidence these qualifications at interview stage.

Upon entry to the University, Apprentices who do not hold or cannot evidence their English Level 2 will have the option to be able to sit initial assessments via the system Basic Knowledge Skills Builder (BKSB) to assess they are functioning at Level 2. The BKSB will be in majority of cases sat face to face at the University campus under exam conditions with a member of the University Staff. Where an apprentice achieves Level 2 on the initial assessments this will be sufficient evidence that they are functioning at the level required for entry onto the Social Work Apprenticeship programme.
