
Social Worker
We are recruiting a Social Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 1 x 37 hours per week & 1 x 18.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time & Permanent, Part Time
Location: Tredomen
Team: South Older People’s Team
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.
We pay an attractive salary of £39,152 - £41,771 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The successful applicant will be joining a well established, Person-centred, Outcomes focused social work team.
The Social Worker will provide timely and responsive assessment care management services to older people with physical difficulties.They will also deliver an assessment care management service to adults aged over 65 with mental health issues, and younger people with dementia, who are considered to require care and support to maximise and maintain their independence and dignity.
The successful applicant will also demonstrate a passion for Social Work with Older People and be committed to maintaining high standards of Social Work intervention.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- Diploma / Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
- Knowledge of the current social care legislative framework and national drivers within Adult social.
- Experience of assessment and care planning.
- A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes.

You must possess a Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor and be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or able to transfer from another recognised body).
The current registration requirements state that completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within your first 3 years of practice is mandatory (if you qualified after 1st April 2016). Failure to successfully complete this qualification will result in you being unable to renew your Social Work Registration or practice as a Social Worker.
