Job Description

Overview

London Borough of Harrow is looking for a Qualified Social Worker to provide a high quality and effective social work service, which responds to the needs of people with lived experiences with care and support needs, their informal carers and their families in a timely manner and within statutory guidelines. All assessments and support plans will be completed in accordance with the wellbeing principles of the Care Act 2014 and reflects a strengths-based approach.

We have exciting opportunities for permanent social workers who are passionate about empowering citizens to reach their full potential in our integrated neighbourhood teams, safeguarding adults, mental health team, transitions and review team.

About You

The successful applicant will have:

  • Must hold a qualification in Social Work
  • Good demonstrable understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 Mental Health Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience. (BSc/MA in Social Work, Dip SW/HE or CQSW).
  • Knowledge of social work models and interventions, including strengths-based practice models (Desirable).
  • Knowledge and understanding of discriminated groups and the ability to ensure that services are appropriately delivered to meet their needs (Desirable).

    • £41,097 - £49,119 per year
