Job Description

Overview

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking a dedicated and resilient Qualified Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care Mental Health Team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred support designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges, as well as their informal carers and families. You will ensure all assessments and support plans are completed in full compliance with the Care Act 2014, placing the wellbeing principles at the heart of your practice.

We utilise a strengths-based approach, empowering residents to lead fulfilling, independent lives while operating within statutory guidelines. We are looking for practitioners who are passionate about supporting adults with complex care needs to thrive. Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and maintain current registration with Social Work England.

About You

  • Must hold a qualification in social work
  • Good demonstrable understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 Mental Health Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience. (BSc/MA in Social Work, Dip SW/HE or CQSW).
  • Knowledge of social work models and interventions including strengths based practice models (Desirable).
  • Knowledge and understanding of discriminated groups and the ability to ensure that services are appropriately delivered to meet their needs (Desirable).
