The Role

As a Social Worker in our Children with Disabilities service, you will manage a varied caseload and complete timely, high-quality assessments and plans that keep children and young people at the centre of practice. You will work closely with families and multi-agency partners, particularly education and health, to safeguard children, strengthen support and improve outcomes. You will contribute to a culture of professional excellence, restorative practice and inclusive service delivery.

About You

  • A recognised degree in Social Work or equivalent and current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience of working with children, young people and families; experience within Children with Disabilities would be particularly welcomed.
  • The ability to manage complex and varied casework and complete accurate, analytical and outcome-focused assessments within required timescales.
  • Thorough knowledge of children and families legislation, statutory duties, child development, disability, safeguarding and evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in court work and multi-agency partnership working with education and health.
  • A reflective, child-centred and restorative approach, with professional integrity and a commitment to inclusion and anti-discriminatory practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex caseloads, completing assessments, plans, reviews and purposeful interventions with children, young people and families.
  • Safeguard children and promote their health, wellbeing, independence, voice and participation in all decisions affecting them.
  • Analyse needs, risks and protective factors and develop clear plans that deliver measurable and sustainable outcomes.
  • Work in partnership with families, carers, education, health and other agencies through effective multi-agency planning and review meetings.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and professional evidence for conferences, statutory meetings and court proceedings where required.
  • Maintain accurate case records, contribute to duty arrangements, share learning and participate fully in reflective supervision and development.

Why Join Us?

  • Make a meaningful difference to disabled children and young people by helping them remain safe, supported and able to achieve their potential.
  • Join an inclusive service committed to manageable caseloads, high-quality reflective supervision and strong multi-agency practice.
  • Build your career through ongoing learning, professional development and clear progression opportunities within Children's Social Care.

What we offer

  • A permanent position with a salary of £43,149-£46,579 per annum and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Up to 41 days' holiday, including eight bank holidays, with the option to buy additional annual leave.
  • Flexible and hybrid working, plus a relocation allowance of up to £8,000, subject to policy.
