Job Introduction

About Us

We're creating a new team dedicated to delivering and improving the digital products, tools and services that colleagues rely on across Oxfordshire County Council. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape both what we deliver and how we work together.

Bringing together product, delivery and technical expertise, the team will focus on creating practical digital solutions that make everyday work easier, reduce manual effort and help colleagues make better use of technology. Through low-code development, automation and modern digital tools, we'll help drive efficiency and improve the way services are delivered across the organisation.

As we build the team, we're looking for people who are excited by the opportunity to influence ways of working, help establish a positive culture and contribute to an environment where collaboration, learning and continuous improvement are valued.

We believe great outcomes come from working together, embracing new ideas and supporting people to make a difference. This is a chance to play a key role in creating a new capability that will have a lasting impact across the organisation.

About the Role

As a Software Developer, you will design, build and support digital solutions that improve efficiency, simplify processes and enhance the experience of colleagues across the organisation.

Working closely with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, Business Analysts and stakeholders, you will develop applications, workflows, integrations and automations using Microsoft Power Platform and other modern development technologies. This may include Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Copilot Studio, APIs and integration services that connect systems and streamline business processes.

You'll help translate business challenges into practical solutions that reduce administrative effort, automate routine tasks and enable colleagues to focus on delivering excellent services.

You'll be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and design through to development, testing, deployment and continuous improvement. You'll also contribute to technical standards and development practices, helping ensure solutions are secure, scalable and maintainable.

This is an opportunity to have a direct impact on how technology supports colleagues and helps the organisation work more effectively.
