An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Peabody Trust’s Legal Services Team as a Solicitor. This is a part-time role (2 days per week) on a fixed-term basis for 6 months, with the potential to extend and increase working days. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive in-house legal service, primarily focused on non-contentious commercial and residential property law. You’ll respond to ad-hoc legal queries from internal stakeholders and provide clear, practical advice. You’ll support the Senior Solicitor, Assistant Director of Legal, and General Counsel & Company Secretary on more complex or substantial matters. You’ll also contribute to internal legal training programmes, represent Legal Services in cross-functional forums, and help shape legal policy and procedure. All work will be carried out to the highest standards in line with Lexcel procedures and Peabody’s strategic objectives.
What you’ll need
• Admission as a Solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
• Strong knowledge of property law and up-to-date understanding of relevant case law
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to process and interpret complex legal information
• Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to advise a range of audiences
