Job summary

At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings and courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we’re on. In our world, it all matters.

Job description

The success of a government project can depend on secure, timely shipments and our Logistics team always deliver the goods. From dedicated drivers to King's Messengers, they've delivered to over 250 destinations worldwide, moving over a million kilograms of freight annually across land, air, and sea. Now, you've got the opportunity to join them.

Delivering globally.

Dispatching each shipment with care.

Seeing your impact go further.

It all matters.

Manage the details that keep logistics running smoothly

Being the SOPs Administrator means you’ll be the one keeping the standards behind Global Logistics relevant, up to date, repeatable & scalable at an important time of transformation. Supporting the development and maintenance of SOPs, your job will be to ensure the documents are written/mapped, formatted, version-controlled, approved and published correctly and within a document control log. Coordinating review cycles with operational teams and subject matter experts will also be under your purview, as you work to keep track of changes, actions and approvals to make sure everyone is working with the right information. Everything you do will help create safer ways of working and document the best-in-class standards.

And that’s not all you’ll do. From maintaining document registers and audit trails to responding to queries and helping communicate updated procedures, you’ll make information easy for people to find and use. You’ll also work under the Standards & Procedures Manager, as you keep documentation aligned with Health & Safety, Business Improvement, compliance and governance requirements.

Bring structure to critical operations

You’re someone who naturally has the ability to quickly identify & document clear best-in-class processes, spot the small details and take pride in getting things right – whether that’s keeping records accurate, tracking document versions and approvals or making documentation/mapping remain consistent. Having previously worked in a detailed administrative or documentation role in an operational, process-led or compliance-focused environment, you are very comfortable, if not quite proficient, in the standard office systems, a specialist in MS Visio and document management tools. You’re naturally organised and reliable, which also makes you comfortable managing routine tasks with senior stakeholders and juggling multiple deadlines.

An excellent communicator, you’re someone who enjoys working with people. You’re able to handle queries professionally, whether you’re speaking to operations teams or subject matter experts. Experience with SOPs, policies, document control or quality systems would come in handy, as would some exposure to logistics, warehouse or service delivery environments. A thorough understanding of Health & Safety will be a welcome bonus.
