Starting Well Facilities Team Leader,
Grade 7: £43,680 - £48,003pa 12 months Fixed Term Contract/Secondment Opportunity (This role attracts additional allowances for working weekends, and unsociable hours).
About the role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities Team Lead to join our Starting Well Directorate. You will manage a team of Facilities Officers ensuring that our buildings, including MyPlace Community and Youth Centre, Hedley Close, and Havering’s Children Centre’s, operate efficiently, safely, and in a customer-focused manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise Starting Well Facilities Officers, including appraisals and professional development.
- Cover shifts at Myplace as and when required.
- Ensure building compliance with health and safety standards and undertake risk assessments.
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Oversee building operations, including security, alarms, and cleaning.
- Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Promote Starting Well facilities and services to the community.
- Deputise for the Facilities Manager as required.
About You
- Experience managing public facing buildings.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations & the ability to risk assess.
- Experience working with young people, and the principles safeguarding.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Technical knowledge including audio/visual, lighting, connectivity, and cable management.
- Ability to be commercial minded to support the best use of facilities and generate income.
- A practical mindset, willingness to learn/share new skills and to improve how we work to get results.
